OMG, ok, so as most of you actually don't know,
nicole_nut and I are friends from a Nicole Kidman forum, and we're also huge Keith Urban fans. Ok, that park you knew lol, but what you didn't know, is that we have plans to meet on April 9. Our plans were already going to be uber sweet, but after tonight, they just got like, a billion times more amazing!!!
I've finally gotten a bit of good fortune. It seems I used up the last 19 years worth on my BSE in Toronto, and I must have banked up some good karma since then because I can't believe this has actually worked out for me.
One of my best friends in the whole world is my fellow monkey, NKUlover, who I met a couple years ago on a Nicole Kidman site. Last year we started to talk more and really became friends, but unfortunately, like almost all of my friends, she lives in the US and I live in Canada, and my province does not border her state. Because we're a good drive apart, I wasn't sure I'd ever get to meet her. Then I saw an opening.
My mom told me that we could get tickets to see Keith again in Rochester, but we had some financial misfortune and she broke it to me the day of the show, that we really couldn't afford to go and get last minute tickets. She said if I REALLY wanted to, she would take me, but we really didn't have the money right now. So I said to her, what about a show that's further away in April? That would give us time to save.
I knew my friend was going to the State College show, so we decided on that one, but of course I had missed the presale and there were no tickets left. I'd been searching desperately and not having much luck, and I was starting to lose hope that I'd ever find ANYTHING reasonably priced, and even if I did, I'd be way up in the nosebleeds and wouldn't even get to spend the show with my friend. Then one night, as I was going to bed, I got a mville e-mail about the baltimore show and I went hmm I wonder if she's going to that.
So after some frantic txting, pm-ing, and e-mailing, I left messages everywhere possible for my friend to get the next morning. I said perhaps if she was getting tickets, she could persuade her wonderful mother to get 2 for me and my mom, and then I would pay her back. Being wonderful as previously described, her mom agreed, and though we're sitting way up in the 300's, we were able to get seats together and my mom and I will be making the haul down to Baltimore so I can meet my best friend for the FIRST TIME EVER!!! And we'll even get to enjoy Keith together. Even if we're way up in the rafters, it's still going to be the best show ever.
I managed to find an auction for a set of tickets that were in the centre floor section, which is split on either side of the catwalk (AKA - the best place to sit) and it wasn't on ebay, it was on a broker site, which normally don't do auctions, so it wasn't really known about, so we watched it until tonight, just before it closed, and I snuck in and put in a bid, and WE TOTALLY WON THEM!!! And it was totally a great deal too! So now we're sitting in row 11 in the middle, right where the freaking catwalk is!!! And best of all, we don't have to sit with our parents!! lol. It's gonna freakin rock!!!
