My 3 year old tabby cat suddenly has dandruff. He's never had dandruff before. The only thing in his environment that has changed is his dry food and he now uses the Breeze litter system. I'm going to switch him back to his old dry food but are there other causes for dandruff?

EW Best Finales
EW.com put together a list of TV's Best Season Finale's Ever (they're not ranked) and The X Files was one of them! Season 4's finale "Gethsemane" was their choice, and here's what they had to say:

THE X-FILES
Is Mulder Really Dead?, Season 4

The X-Files is one of those rare series that boasts several memorable season finales. But it was the emotional cliffhanger during the height of the show's popularity in the fourth season that sent fans reeling — trying, much like the revered duo of special agents, to separate the truth from the lies. Was Fox Mulder's quest a hoax from the get-go, and what would become of his unfailingly loyal, cancer-stricken partner? Was Mulder really dead, and if not, was Scully privy to his faked suicide scheme? Fans wanted to believe that the truth was out there, but that didn't make the wait for answers over the summer hiatus any less painful. —Gretchen Hansen

So, do you agree? Was this the best finale? Not your favourite perhaps, but the best, the most effective, the most nail biting?

So i've noticed over the last few weeks, kitty hasnt been eating nearly as much wet food as she used too and instead, she is eating more dry food. I usually feed her a can (5.5 oz) of wet food every night and she always had it gone by the morning. Now, i'm lucky if she eats half a can. I know she isnt getting sick of the flavors because different flavors every feeding time.

My question is, Can i start feeding her just dry food, and try the wet food as a treat once or twice a week? Or should I try a different brand of wet food?

Sad story :(
This very sad story happened in my area... my humane society is going to offer an $500 for the arrest of the asshole who did this. Just wanted to share, not to make anyone sad but to sadly remind everyone that bad people are everywhere and we should watch our furry friends as close as we can.

PTC cat killed by arrow
Tue, 05/13/2008 - 4:36pmBy: John Munford
A Peachtree City woman is hopeful that someone will come forward with information leading to the person who shot and killed her kitten with an arrow last week. Her letter to the editor is on Page A5.

Corinne Harrington, who lives in a condo on Ridge View, is making an appeal with hard evidence in hand, specifically the green and black camouflaged arrow that killed Frick, her 1-year-old gray and white kitten.

Harrington said she found Frick, who bled to death, under a bush of her next-door neighbor’s home. Police declined to take the arrow as evidence but she had to remove it to bury him.

Harrington said she was “shocked” that someone would take the time and skill required to shoot Frick. She is asking anyone with information on the incident to call Peachtree City police.

The arrow was a practice arrow and not one with a razor tip, Harrington said, adding that it had green and yellow feathers.

The incident took place near Stevens Entry, Harrington said.

Harrington said Frick was a loving cat who enjoyed meeting new people, and though he would be outdoors while she was at work, she could count on him coming home the moment she did so he could come in for the night.

“I’d come home and he’d walk up,” jingling the bell on his collar, she said. “He was never that far.”

Harrington said her next door neighbor reported his cat missing a month ago and he now fears it too has been killed.

Harrington said she didn’t want to point fingers and assume any particular person did it, as it could easily have been an adult or a child. She said the shot went “clear through” Frick.

Meanwhile, Harrington is caring for a stray cat who trailed Frick home recently. That cat had a severe injury to its tail where the hair was stripped off, as if the cat had possibly been tied up or had a rubber band placed on it.

Harrington said she worried that Frick and the stray were indicators that someone in the area was abusing animals.

Harrington found Frick three days after his disappearance and choked up remembering how he must have died.

Frick takes an arrow: Do you know this kitten’s killer?
Tue, 05/13/2008 - 4:20pmBy: Letters to the ...
Frick, a 1-year-old gray and white loving kitten, was frolicking outside, when suddenly an arrow pierced through his little body. With an arrow coming out of both sides of his midsection, Frick attempted to run back to his loving home on Ridgeview Court in Peachtree City, but [because of] loss of blood, had to lie down under a bush, where his life ended.

In loving memory of my furry family member, I am asking others who have a kind, loving heart to notify the Peachtree City Police should they know of Frick’s killer.

The arrow used to end his life was green and black camouflaged, along with green and yellow feathers. The murder took place in the vicinity of Steven’s Entry and Ridgeview Court.

I believe in my heart, Frick is in a better place, where evil does not exist. For the individual who maliciously harmed one of God’s creations, I will pray for you.

some recent pictures of Samurai!
So there was some good lighting in my room the other day and Sammy actually decided to sit still and pose for me, so I took advantage of it. He is starting to lose that kitten face. It's still there a bit, but he's looking more and more handsome every day!

I also just noticed...his whiskers are INSANELY long!!! They're gonna take over his face!

He is 9 months old now.

lots of pictures! )

Buying stuff...
My husband does horse show photography and wants to start offering more items than just prints. What would you pay for these items with you & your horse on them? Riders can see their photos on the computer at the show, order, and the item is sent in the mail in about a week. We've ordered samples of all of these (with me & my horses on them.... woo hoo!!) and I can vouch for the quality, these are not cheaply made.

The last item is not from his photography business, its woodburning that I personally do ;-) Would love to know what you guys would pay for that too...

thanks!!!

Another Snowy video
Tuna dragged the grooming mitt out of the box under the TV and left it on the floor.
Here is how Snowy reacted to the mitt on the floor. She's terrified of it just laying there. She does the same thing to a scrap of carpet we have for the cats to scratch and anything strange on the floor. What she doesn't realize is that she herself is making it jump toward her whenever she bats at it. She just thinks it's jumping at her. Funny thing is, when I put it on and start petting her, she loves it, she starts purring and leaning harder into it.

fighting

I've been fighting against my depression for years!! I usually am some-what successful. Like others, I have my moments of breakdowns, where I curl into myself...but I fight them all the same!!

But there has to be a time when you give up. When you just can't keep fighting anymore!!!!

I just don't know what to do anymore!?!?! I don't think I can keep fighting..I'm losing the battle!! I feel like I'm starting to lose the person I was. I know I was happy once..I remember it...or am I dreaming of it. I don't even know anymore...

Thanks for listening to me vent!

Happy times!
For those of you who remember Oats the big 17.3hh gelding who has been abused by his old owners.

I have really great news!

After 8 months of me watching others ride him for me whilst I stood scared from the side, I have now for the last 4 weeks been riding him again, going from strength to strength and finally today after many schooling sessions and small rides around the farm, we went on our first hack together.

I feel like we are a team again and he was very happy, relaxed and finally pain free. The vet says for the past month or more he is now sound and the bute is working wonders for him. He has been ridden 2 times a week and jumped in shows and he is still 100% sound. Doing really really well the vet is thrilled. He says his sourness (rearing and not wanting to go into the school) is so much less that he hardly ever does it now, infact I cannot remember the last time, and how much happier he is and he was suprised as he did wonder if he would ever go back to being not sour again.

We hacked for a long time today through woods, on roads and down lanes and bridle paths and I could have cried for how happy that made me. I can't stop smiling, we are a team again!

No advice needed this time, like I normally ask for haha, just a happy ending to a long story. Thought you might like to know.

:-)

I'm new to LJ and new to this community, but I figured I'd post an idea that I've had floating in my head. I've pretty much gotten nowhere on it, except for the two pages of background info that I'm linking to below. But I'd love to get some idea on it! So feel free to leave them.

Here's the idea:
A successful plastic surgeon in NYC finally ties the knot, right? His name is David Halden and he's 43. He marries a woman named Lisa and begins living the American dream with the perfect life, ect. BUT, infedlity!  With a much younger girl who is a relative of his wife.
I know, trashy, right? That's what I do best.
I haven't gotten far on it.. at all. I figured I'd post the little bit I did write and get some feedback. Basically it's David's background and stops right when I get into how he met Lisa, because I haven't quite had time to figure that all out yet.
But here's what I got. I'd love to hear what anyone thinks. But if you must critisize (spelling? I know, I suck) please keep it constructive.
